The ethnographic collection
of the old objects and tools from the ancient times is located in the centre
of Kolan, in the premises of the old school (built in 1903.). Every object
tells its own story about the inhabitants of these areas and the old ways
of living. In the collection, beside antiques, there are also some old pictures
which shows the old fashion way of live .
St. Vid is the highest peak of the
island of Pag (348 m). There are the remains of the chapel of St. Vid (1348.g.).
A marvelous view to the numerous neighboring islands and a better part of
the National Park of Velebit extends from the top. (The road from the big
curve on the main road above Kolan through the valley of Kolan is mostly used
for the climb on St. Vid.)
The town Pag is built strictly
according to plans of Croatian renesanse sculptor and architect Juraj Dalmatinac,
started 1443 and finshed after two decades. On central town squere is located
parochial churche of Ascension Blissfully Holly Mery which is, with its interior
and exterior arhitectal solutions and exhibits, valuable cultural and artistic
monument.
The mud of Kolan is a marshy
habitat distinguished by the riches and diversity of the bird world. It is
preserved as an ornithological refuge because of its importance for the preservation
of biologic diversity. One hundred sixty three bird species, out of which
66 nest birds, have been noted in the mud of Kolan and surroundings.
Novalja is the biggest touristic
centar on island Pag, where you can find a lot of restaurants and supply centars.
Novalja is also well-knovn as a place which offer a lot of other conveniences
to its guests. Especially is famous the beach ZRÆE where happenings never
quit and discotheques live all day long.
